The neurogenetic correlates of consciousness (NgCC) is a new field of consciousness studies that focuses on genes that have an effect on
or are involved in the continuum of neuron-based consciousness. A framework of consciousness based on the neural correlates of
consciousness (NCC) has already been established by Francis Crick and Christof Kock. In this work I propose that there are NgCC
underlying the NCC which are both active during the conscious experience. So how are genes involved? There are two significant
connections between DNA and neurons that are involved in the conscious experience. First, any brain system can be adversely affected
by underlying genetic abnormalities which can be expressed in an individual at birth, in adulthood, or later in life. Second, the DNA
molecule does not lay dormant while the neuron runs on autopilot. DNA is active in translating and transcribing RNA and protein
products that are utilized during neuron functioning. Without these products being continuously produced by the DNA during a
conscious experience the neurons would cease to function correctly and be rendered unable to provide a continuum of human
consciousness. Consequently, in addition to NCC, NgCC must be factored in when appreciating a conscious event. In this work I will
discuss and explain some NgCC citing several examples.
This paper is an organization and conceptualization of a genetic account of human consciousness
and to establish an initial list of the neurogenetic correlates of consciousness (NgCC). This will
be accomplished by establishing networks of genes that are involved in the multiple facets of the
process of human consciousness. The methodology utilized in this work is the evaluation of a
small number of genes that have been researched experimentally in order to understand their role
in brain development and function. The results demonstrate that most neurogenetic genes can be
categorized into three phases: the emergence of neuron-based consciousness, the continuum of
neuron-based consciousness, and the neurodegeneration of consciousness. This work also
revealed that some genes have a function in more than one of the neurogenetic phases. As of
now a starting point has been established in terms of identifying some NgCC but there is room
for expansion as there are likely to be hundreds of more genes that have yet to be identified or
the function pertaining to human consciousness has not yet been fully understood.
The theory of DNA consciousness proposes two main themes. First, that DNA possesses a
degree of consciousness which is supported by the interaction-based model of consciousness
and the concept of interaction-complexity-consciousness. Second, that DNA possesses the
ability to give rise to higher degrees of consciousness e.g. cellular consciousness and human
consciousness. In previous works I have assembled neurogenetic correlates of human
consciousness into three distinct phases and used this evidence to support the second theme of
the theory of DNA consciousness. In this article I will evaluate DNA as a degree of
consciousness objectively on three dynamic levels. Each of these three levels will be
supported by molecular and genetic principles which are validated by existing scientific
literature. The results of this work clearly demonstrate that DNA consciousness can in fact be
broken down objectively into three dynamic levels- the interactions between DNA and itself
(gene-gene interactions also called epistatis), the interactions of DNA and other nucleic
entities (RNA, viruses, the mitochondria, and other cells), and the interactions between DNA
and the external environment. These results force us to view DNA not as a docile genetic
storage unit, but rather as a dynamic degree of molecular consciousness that possess the ability
to give rise to higher forms of consciousness. The results also suggest that the paradigm of
interaction-complexity-consciousness demonstrates how consciousness is a fundamental
property of the universe and an emergent property one as well that is interwoven in a fractal
nature.
Human consciousness has historically been an enigma tantalizingly
engaged by philosophy. However, the topic of human consciousness was
confronted by psychology in the later part of the 1800’s, most notably
by William James [1]. In due course, a framework of consciousness
based on the neural correlates of consciousness (NCC) was proposed
by Francis Crick and Christof Koch in 2003 [2]. In this framework
brain systems are active in tandem with the conscious experience.
Eventually, a more profound and clandestine phenomenon would
be proposed to account for the emergence of human consciousnessDNA
consciousness, which was proposed in two previous works in
2006 [3,4]. The theory of DNA consciousness proposes that the DNA
molecule gives rise to human consciousness and that DNA possesses
a degree of consciousness in its own right [5]. Recently, the theory
of DNA consciousness has evolved into three neurogenetic phases of
human consciousness [6]. In this framework neurogenetic correlates of
consciousness (NgCC) function on an underlying scale in relationship
to any NCC. In this paradigm NgCC are involved in the emergence, the
continuum, and the decline of human consciousness (typically caused
by neurodegeneration) i.e. the three neurogenetic phases of human
consciousness.
Each of the three neurogenetic phases possesses hundreds, and
perhaps thousands, of genes (and gene products) that are pivotal to
human consciousness. An early conceptualization and organization of
some of these genes and their place in the three neurogenetic phases of
human consciousness has been proposed [7]. Some of these genes are
involved in more than one neurogenetic phase
There are many interpretations of what consciousness is. In the past decade materialist and reductionist
theories have gained in popularity as many neurological correlates of consciousness have been identified
experimentally. This article presents a neurogenetic account of the underpinnings of neuron-based
consciousness. In this paradigm, human consciousness is supported by genes that are involved in three
distinct neurogenetic phases: 1) the emergence of neuron-based consciousness, 2) the continuum of neuronbased
consciousness, and 3) the neurodegeneration of human consciousness. The methodology implemented
to establish these three neurogenetic phases was a systematic search and evaluation of genes that have been
proven to support an active role in one or more of these three phases. This article demonstrates that there is
a substructure of gene-based correlates that functions in the three neurogenetic phases. These phases work
in tandem with the conscious experience. Consequently, it is established that explanations of human
consciousness that rely solely on regions of the brain and neurons are deficient without taking into
consideration the neurogenetic element of human consciousness. This presentation of the neurogenetic
dimensions of human consciousness is the first of its kind.

Само описание этой функции оптимальности авторы тщательно обходят, надувая на мистику какого то не описанного сознания. In previous works, the first neurogenetic account of human consciousness has been established and was
delineated into three distinct phases- the emergence of neuron-based consciousness, the continuum of
neuron-based consciousness, and neurodegeneration [1, 2].In this model, DNA consciousness gives rise
to human consciousness in the form of neurogenetic correlates of consciousness (NgCC) and then the
NgCC underlying the neurons provide continuous activity during the conscious experience. This
engenders a continuum of neuron-based consciousness working in tandem with a neurogenetic
substructure. Unfortunately, later in life the neurons wear down and modalities of human
consciousness are decreased or lost [3]. This loss can proceed in an age-related fashion as seen in mild
cognitive impairment or this process can have a genetic component as seen in Alzheimer disease (AD).
Currently, genetic experiments are underway to reverse some of the symptoms of AD, e.g., the FGF-2
gene transfer for memory improvement in mice with AD [4]. However, in the future can this, or
similar, genetic therapies be used to enhance human consciousness in patients without AD? Would this
be the first steps into posthuman consciousness?
In 2009, it was proposed and supported that genetic engineering technology may provide the
opportunity for a selected genetic destination [5].This would make it possible to select a phenotype or
genetic endpoint and make it possible in any organism including humans. This technology could
potentially lead to a new transgenic subspecies- Homo sapiens genomicus (HSG)or “the man with the
wisdom to alter his genome”. HSG is not a teleological endpoint, but rather a fresh new branch on the
tree of life that could blossom and unfurl the emergence of several new subspecies and eventually new
species altogether. In this paradigm HSG could indeed signify the first manifestation of what would
represent true transhuman, and eventually, posthuman consciousness!
The primary goal of this review is to appraise the genetic underpinnings of
DNA autopoiesis. An autopoietic system must meet six criteria: that system must
have an identifiable boundary, that boundary is self -produced, the components
of that boundary is self-produced, that system is subject to cause and effect, that
system possesses constituent elements/components, and those constituents
are self-produced. In this review the evaluation of relevant literature in genetics
and genomic research were surveyed in order to determine if there is enough
scientific proof that can be enumerated which supports that the DNA molecule
meets the six criteria of autopoiesis. The results were that there is a significant
amount of genetic underpinnings identified that affords the DNA molecule
the ability to meet all six criteria of autopoiesis. By understanding the genetic
underpinnings of DNA autopoiesis we can begin to objectify DNA as a conscious,
autopoietic, and intentional system; rather than myopically viewing DNA as
nothing more than a genetic storage unit. Finally, it is important to establish
a gene-based framework of DNA autopoiesis as this will give researchers a
starting point in proposing testable models
Alzheimer disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disorder that slowly erodes some of the facets of human
consciousness. During the pathological course of AD, beta-amyloid plaques form which- causes damage to neurons
and results in the gross loss of brain volume. As a consequence of AD, the afflicted individual develops decreases in
cognitive/executive function, memory impairment/loss, and the inability to inhibit inappropriate behaviors. Another
way of saying this is that the afflicted individual ceases to be the person whom they once were, i.e., their modalities
of consciousness has deteriorated. Mutations in several genes, e.g., the gene variant APOE-epsilon4, APP, PSEN1,
PSEN2, and TREM2 have all been correlated with the increased incidence and more rapid progression of AD. This
has given support to the proposal that there are neurogenetic correlates of consciousness (NgCC). In previous
works, these NgCC have been delineated into three neurogenetic phases of human consciousness. AD is a primary
example of gene-based neurodegeneration that can take place in the third neurogenetic phase. There is hope that
symptoms of AD may be reversed with the development of novel genetic therapies. Some gene therapies are
underway, e.g., FGF2, leptin, and NEU1 with the aim of reversing AD symptomatology. If these gene therapies are
one day successful in reversing some of the symptoms of AD, can they eventually be used to enhance human
consciousness in individuals without AD?

Игорь, идею связи сознания и ДНК (по приведенным тобой статьях) можно и нужно развить именно в направлении мысли, что человеческая речь и тексты есть инобытие Сознания. И тексты эти на уровне ДНК хромосом есть отображение Сознания в разных фрактальных размерностях. Поэтому и важна работа Гриневича. Хочешь, обмозгуем совместно? Даже с привлечением данных о ДНК фантомах. А то здесь зям-дерьмо отфильтровывать скучно.

Selected genetic destination is a species’, such as Homo sapiens, possessing control of the genetic evolution of a species (other species and their own species) with the use of genetic engineering techniques (Grandy 2010b). Since the completion of the human genome project in 2003 scientists and philosophers have speculated on the possibility of not only curing numerous diseases, but also the possibility to be able to enhance humans with genetic engineering (Grandy 2006c). Serious philosophical and religious debate has arisen in response to the possibility of the non-medical use of gene therapy. There is much gray area that needs to be defined when discussing what medical gene therapy and genetic enhancements are. I have proposed that the use of genetic enhancement will give rise to a new species Homo sapiens genomicus (Grandy 2010b). In this paper I will discuss the differences between passive human enhancement and aggressive human enhancement, the different possible subspecies (especially Homo sapiens genomicus) that may evolve in the future, the possibility of genetically engineering species better suited to survive in space, and reasons to support the use of genetic engineering to improve humankind. In conclusion, I will discuss where the Homo sapiens sapiens subspecies stands in the grand scheme of things.
