В Москве с 30 октября по 5 ноября школа Шахматные надежды России проводит товарищеский матч между чемпионом России Дмитрием Андрейкиным (Эло - 2718) и экс-чемпионом Европы и России Яном Непомнящим (2704).
Запланированы шесть партий с контролем 90 минут на 40 ходов, 30 минут до конца партии и 30 секунд добавления на ход, начиная с первого.
На матче применяются доигровки в быстрые шахматы. Если главная партия дня закончится вничью менее, чем за три часа игры, то соперники спустя 15 минут перерыва играют две партии в быстрые шахматы с контролем 15 минут +10 секунд добавления на ход, исход которых не будет влиять на итоговый результат матча.
This weekend Carlsen will participate in two important events, both part of the largest chess festival in Mexico Gran Fiesta UNAM 2012.
The first event will be the Torneo Cuadrangular where Carlsen will meet Lazaro Bruzon, Judit Polgar, and Manuel Leon Hoyos. The tournament is a knockout event composed of mini matches. On Friday at 17:30 local time (00:30 CET, 18:30 EST) the World number 1 will meet Lazaro Bruzon in the first semi final. Polgar and Leon Hoyos play at the same time on Saturday. The 3rd-4th place mini final is Sunday at 11:00 local time, while the Grand Final of Torneo Cuadrangular starts at 17:00 the same day. The official live games transmission of the tournament will be provided on Chessdom.com with computer analysis.
IM Jens Kristiansen and WGM Galina Strutinskaya are 2012 FIDE World Senior Chess Champions, after they won the most prestigious senior title in the world at the WSCC in the 5 star Galini Hotel in Kamena Vourla, Greece.
IM Kristiansen finished with 9,0/11, half a point ahead of his closest competitors – silver medalist GM Anntoly Vassier and the bronze medalist GM Evgeny Sveshnikov. IM Kristiansen started as 9th seeded in the competition and was held to a draw right from the start in round 1. He quickly recovered and gained speed to achieve 7 wins in the next 9 games, drawing only with the two rating favorites GM Evgeny Sveshnikov in round 5 and GM Anatoly Vaisser in round 9.

Несколько минут назад в Подебрадах завершилась последняя партия матча подснежников против ветеранов: Алина Кашлинская остановила часы, признав поражение в партии с Вольфгангом Ульманом. Ранее Кристина Гавликова уступила Фридрику Олафссону, а дуэли Гунина - Горт и Сачдев - Романишин закончились миром. Таким образом, опытные гроссмейстеры вырвали общую победу в матче: 17-15

The Sberbank Rapid Chess Tournament came to an end today in Kiev. Sergey Karjakin had another good day and managed to overtake Veselin Topalov at the top of the standings to get the winner’s trophy.

The results of the World Blitz Chess Championship were known on June 10th at the Ugra Chess Academy in Khanty-Mansiysk. Sixty chess players from eighteen countries fought for the title of World Blitz Champion.
Russian grandmaster Ian Nepomniachtchi and Vietnamese Le Quang Liem were leading after the first day. Both Grandmasters had 12 points each, but the distance from the competitors was not very big: half a point behind was Ruslan Ponomariov from the Ukraine. Also, very close to the leading chess players, there was a group of players such as Alexander Grischuk, Ernesto Inarkiev and Rauf Mamedov.
At the beginning of the second day, Le Quang Liem was ahead of the pack, and he managed to keep this advantage until the end of the event. However, before the last round, Ruslan Ponomariov came very close to the Vietnamese grandmaster. A victory over Sergey Movsesian (Armenia) in the last round brought the gold medal to Le in the World Blitz championship. Ponomariov made a draw in the last round against Gabriel Sargissian.
Grischuk, Nepomniachtchi and Ponomatiov finished the championship only half a point behind the winner. The silver medal went to Alexander Grischuk, while the bronze one went to Ruslan Ponomariov.
